Karzog
Emissary from Ptóma
Background
Karzog is a member of the Sinew Hold, calling Ptóma his home.
Struck by lightning while working at the forge, his sorcerous nature was awakened and aligned. The elemental force energized his blood with an affinity for metal, thunder, and lightning. His magic manifests as the raw, primal energy of the storm and the brutal rending of jagged metal.
Discovering these abilities also revealed to him his enigmatic muse: the mysteries of a world undiscovered, lore untold, and enemies unvanquished. Trained by his Hold as an emissary, he speaks with impassioned oratory across the wide gulf of language and custom between Ptóma and other peoples.
Mission
Karzog has been charged with aiding New Fortuna's recovery and growth.
The Orc Holds of Ptóma want New Fortuna to become a worthwhile raiding target. Karzog is meant to use his skills and abilities to advise and assist in the rebuilding effort to make the town, and it's people, as strong and capable as possible.
It may seem odd to outsiders, sending an envoy to a potential enemy in order to strenghten them, rather than weaken them. To the orcs of Ptóma this is how they improve themselves in the ways of their culture: that which does not kill you makes you stronger. The raiding of an easy target is not a worthwhile endeavour.
Appearance
Karzog, greeting the townsfolk of New Fortuna.
Tall, imposing, and straight of back instead of the typical orcish slouch. Hold scars and various tattoos tell the story of his coming of age. A shock of black hair, sharp tusks, and a conspiritorial grin give him an enigmatic look.
His clothing is decorated with a mixture of elemental and occult symbology, pieced together from random raid loot. A chain is worn across his chest and over his armor, like a badge of office. A dagger and morningstar hang on his belt and a wicked spiked gauntlet is worn on his right hand.
He displays the knotted sigil of the Sinew Hold on the buckle of his belt and on his shield.
The Orc Settlement
The orc settlement, east of New Fortuna, is known as Ptóma. The town sits in the ancient rib cage of a giant skeleton. Ptóma is led by four Holds named after different parts of the body.
| Hold | Details |
|---|---|
| Bone |
Focused on strong and sturdy leadership and specialized in
engineering and smithing. The father of the bride is a leader
in the Bone Hold.
|
Blood |
Specialized in alchemy, herbalism, healing, and poisons. They
act as the scientific research force of Ptóma, discovering new
methods and concoctions.
Pansy, the orc poisoner who helped during the flood,
belongs to the Blood Hold.
|
| Skin |
Wilderness explorers and foraging experts, they specialize
in camouflage and sustanence. Their skills in appearance
include expertise in artisan goods like jewelry and tattoos.
|
| Sinew |
The connective force of Ptóma provides the diplomants, envoys,
trainers, and instrcutors. They organize the schooling and
training for the town to equip the next generation of warriors
with all of the skills they will need.

The four Holds balance each other out. Each Hold has a representative that sits on a council of four. Part of their philosophy is that, much like the body, a proper town needs all it's parts functioning in unison. This cooperative mindset doesn't stop some from seeing their Hold as bringing more value than others.
