Martial Arts - "Penchat Silat" (Indonesian)

Check Firing Squad for rules on martial arts. The specifics for this one are
listed here.

Categories: Striking, Weapon

Signature Technique: Precision Strikes

Known techniques:

Precision Strikes [Weapon] (add STR/3 rouded up to Blades DV)

Two Weapon Fighting [Weapon] (+2 dice pool when dual-wielding)

Dim Mak [Striking] (Called shot for Disabled status)

A note on attacking with two knives with this build. As you are
ambidextrous, you can attack with a knife in both hands with no penalty. The
Dual Attack (minor action) (Companion, p151) is used with an Attack (major
action). The Precision Strikes technique adds +2DV to the knives, bringing
their base to 6P. Dual Attack adds +1DV because the secondary weapon has a
DV of 5+ and +2 dice. This brings the total DV for a dual knife attack to
7P using 19 dice.

So for example, if you were to quickdraw knives and attack with both, this
full out dual attack will require the following actions:

Attack (major action)

Dual Attack (minor action)

Quickdraw (minor action) - or free if drawing from quickdraw
 sheaths

Called Shot (minor action) if using Dim Mak technique

Background

Born in Bali, Indonesia, tough street kid, grew up fighting. She was lucky
in that the school she was able to go to had athletics and martial arts
programs and competitions at which she excelled. Her early life after school
was focused on athletic competition and martial arts training, learning the
traditional Penchat Silat style.

When times got tough and personalities clashed in the sports world, she fell
in with some old street friends who had been running a protection racket in
a wealthy neighborhood. She took them up on the offer and made a bit of a
name for herself with her skills and ability to focus on just the business
at hand and get results.

Her skills here were noticed by a (triad boss?) who hired her on as a
bodyguard. Her work here grew to include working as an agent for the same
(triad) which included some travel to Seattle where she was instructed to
work with a local (triad) as their representative.

Her new work in Seattle went the way of covert ops, picking up skills at
impersonating other people to get into places and perform assassinations
when needed. Again, she found she excelled at these and was easily able to
focus on the work as it was just business.

The nature of this job meant that she had to start picking up bounties as
well, on ex (triad?) members or other contracts, needing to track them down.
It was this sort of work that started getting her jobs as a shadowrunner
where she continues to this day, doing the work but still aligned back to
the (triad boss).
