Current age: 22, born in the Underground in 2063.
Grew up orphaned on the streets, poor and a little bit crazy not knowing what was real or a different kind of real once he emerged. His parents gave him up when they knew he was a strange kid. He showed signs of being physically weak and mentally different and they callously wanted nothing to do with him, literally moving away while he was in school one day. He made due any way he could, after finding the orphanages had nothing for him, generally stealing food and sleeping rough. He chooses to remain ignorant of his parents.
During this time of his life, he met Fenway, a decker, who was able to help get him started hacking and understanding the net. Sapper would often crash on his couch but only when exhausted as he didn't want to take advantage of his generosity. Fenway identified his abilities as a technomancer and helped him to understand what he was experiencing.
When he finally gave in to the insanity of being a technomancer, he dove deep and got overwhelmed with it all. It took some time to work his way to a sense of sanity, but things worked out.
Then, using some leads and help from Fenway, he began a bit of a career as a hacker. Learning how to navigate the net, interact with devices and hosts, etc. Even assisting in some data theft along the way, learning about some of the hacker groups on the net and what they were up to.
Now having his feet under him, he set out on his own with a bit of a hacking career, but often left his frustrations get the better of him. He paused the hacking for a time to become a full on vandal on the net. Evading anyone and everything became his full time existance and he defaced hosts, AROs, etc with random nonsense. His vandalism was more about making the net itself pay for it's hate of the emerged.
Fenway became his primary source of income for a time, paying him to do some targeted vandalism. Sapper was more than happy to take the money for something he was already doing. To this day, Fenway and he are on great terms and often share a drink over a memory of those times and some of the pranks he pulled off. And then, Fenway introduced him to Black Star.
It was during this time as a vandal that Fenway introduced Sapper to Shade, a fixer who works with Black Star at times. He aligned with them well, again only for awhile, until he found out that the motives of Black Star were varied, conflicting, unaligned and not what he was led to believe.
He stopped actively working with Black Star, not wanting to be involved in any kind of infighting. He felt that he left nobody behind as he never made any real connections there, though Shade maintains his relationships there to this day and has been able to get him work there again from time to time as a solo act.
Having picked up on certain ideas from Black Star, he then embarked on a mission to liberate data, wherever he could find it, primarily corporate or state.
His hard work and varied life experience paid off. He's taken the espionage skills learned and honed while with Black Star and can social hack his way past many a front door.
Average height and weight for a dwarf, 1.2m (3'11") and 54kg (119lbs).
Hereditarily of generic caucasion descent.
Messy brown hair and short beard.
He generally dresses in an everyday style, not anything that particularly stands out, but dark colors. He needs to blend in every day and everywhere he goes to try to avoid exposing himself. He doesn't want to be plugged in to some experiment and never seen again.
His Globetrotter uniform setup is to help him socially hack his way into places and past people. He can make them appear as matching any major corpo uniform as long as they don't get overly scrutinized and with their help he can generally con his way into getting whatever or wherever he needs. (clipboard superpower).
He might setup his uniform to look like a corp or say he's a subcontractor with a corp."I have a work-order here to spot-check the server room." "CORP is super busy, what with all the (current events) going on."
His goggles are a streamlined black set, equipped with vision enhancement, flare comp and a smartgun link. He always has them about his person and usually on his head if not actively worn.
He's constantly fiddling with electronics, taking them apart, reconfiguring them, etc. Like taking the area jammer apart and reconfiguring the assembly into something like his bag strap (see picture) or something innoccuous like that.
Now that he can rig, he has also started playing around with an eyeball drone, getting the hang of flying.
When fiddling with electronics, he sets his pistol up for an extra camera using the smartlink, as well as the drone and his goggles, to get the best view points.
